Deze week heb ik voor de allereerste keer deelgenomen aan een sew along. Ja ik ben precies een beetje in overdrive aan het gaan 🙈
Ik maakte de Amelia dress van
Bella Sunshine Designs, de maxi versie, via hun
sew along pagina op facebook. Het aantal deelnemers tijdens de week lijkt me wat tegen te vallen, dus ik ben benieuwd hoeveel uiteindelijke resultaten er zullen zijn.
Ik koos een hele dunne tricot. Ik had deze jurk al eens in de korte versie gemaakt en met een dikkere tricot valt de stof niet zo mooi na het rimpelen. Ik koos ook, in tegenstelling tot vorige versie, voor twee verschillende stoffen voor bovenstuk en rok. Op het bovenstuk zette ik om het grijs wat te breken 2 vlinder applicaties vast. Ik deed het meteen netjes, met vlieseline er achter, en voor ik de voering vastnaaide zodat aan de binnenkant niets te zien is.
Op onderstaande foto de eerste vijf stappen - dagen van de sew along: stof kiezen en patroon printen/plakken, stof knippen, bovenstuk in elkaar zetten, mouwen afwerken (hier deed ik twee stappen in 1, wegens tijdsgebrek op dag vier), bovenstuk afwerken.
Morgen wordt de jurk afgewerkt, dus morgen de foto's van de jurk als ie af is!
This week I joined a sew along for the very first time. Yup, maybe I'm going a little in overdrive 🙈
I'm making the Amelia dress from
Bella Sunshine Designs, the maxi version, following their
sew along page on facebook. The amount of participants seems a bit disappointing, so I'm curious how many wil join on the last day, because there is something to win in this sew along.
I chose a very thin knit fabric. I made this dress some time before in the short version but in a firmer knit it's difficult to gather neat. I also chose to use 2 different fabrics, for bodice and skirt. Because I chose a one color bodice, I sewed two applications of butterflies on it. I overthought it before, so there's interfacing on the wrong side of the fabric, and I attached the butterflies before I sew the lining so there's nothing visible on the inside of the bodice.
In above picture you can see the first five steps (days) of the sew along: choose fabric, print and put together the pattern, cut fabric, assemble bodice, finish armholes (I did 2 steps in 1 day here, because I had a lack of time on day four), finish bodice.
Tomorrow is the last day and I will finish the dress ... so after tomorrow: pictures of finished dress!
